Welcome to the Fiction Site of A.B.R.Just published a new free short story, or short novella. Trick or Trap is different than my other short stories. For a start it is an urban fantasy, a genre I haven't tried before now. I was also striving to be humorous.
It is a Halloween story, set in West Hollywood's Carnival, or the Parade, as most people call it. It is the largest Halloween event in the world, so it is a great setting and provides lots of fodder for humor. In addition, and probably the real reason I wrote about Halloween, is that is my birthday. I won't go into that here, if you are interested you can read more about it the Author's Note at the end of the story. The story is free for anyone who wants to download a copy. Links will be added as they come online (see list). I chose the urban fantasy genre as the best genre for the type of story I wanted to tell. It is probably an epigone of the true masters of this genre, and I doubt I will write any more urban fantasy stories. But the old adage that applies here is " never say never," so I won't. I hope you download Trick or Trap, and enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. There is a description, copy of the cover and links to it on my ebooks page. Happy Halloween! * * * * *
I recently found out that searching for A.B.R. or ABR does not work for some ebookstore sites (e.g. Barnes and Noble and Kobo), but does work on others (e.g. Smashwords and ebookstore.sony.com). On Diesel-ebooks it somehow got transposed to B.R.A. (laugh, but don't get Freudian, I'm male). Diesel corrected it for me, though. Thanks, guys. If author searches don't work, please search by title or use the links on the ebooks page.

A Quick Site TourThis is a quick description to introduce the different pages on this web site.
Flashes is a blog type page where you can read flash fiction and slightly longer stories I've written. There is now a bit of a selection and more will be added as they're written. You can leave comments about any of the stories, which is why I structured it as a blog page. Ebooks is self explanatory, a list of ebooks I've published, with links to sites where they can be downloaded in various ebook formats. Not a lot here, need to publish more. Blogs is my blog page. I'm not a regular blogger, but you can read and comment any blogs I've written. Most are on the subject of ebooks, but I want to write on more diverse topics, and maybe about my own stories when the time comes. In a new section called Temporal Divide I post the descriptions and links to books I enjoyed reading. As the name implies it is schizoid: science fiction and historical fiction. But who knows? I might throw something else in from time to time. Books recommended in Temporal Divide will be free or inexpensive, so many will be indies. Please leave a comment about this web site on my Guestbook or use the Contact page if you want to contact me or comment directly, without it appearing on the web site. The Links page has links to free ebook sites, various useful sites for producing, editing, and marketing ebooks, as well as links to my facebook page, and profiles on two sites where authors connect with readers.
